Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover

Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover – for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (1 #Samuel 16:7 #KJV). So many times we are quick to judge someone because they are different than us or they don’t physically meet the standards the magazines set for us. They might be tall, short, fat, too skinny, geeky, prepy, nerds, jocks, super smart, super dumb, maybe they look like a model, maybe they don’t… we don’t like different do we? Even among Christians when we know that God talks so much in the Bible about the heart and the inner man, the important stuff. #Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. But we put the outward appearance of people #1, right? I do it.

Why do we talk about loving people but fail to love and get to know the ones who are there in our church, who are faithful and their life shows evidence of loving God yet they aren’t ‘cool’ or they are ‘weird’ so we shun them. Don’t we? Or better yet if someone makes a huge mistake, an affair, child abuse, gambling, cursing, porn, too touchy, whatever we consider ‘really bad sins’ we shun them right, even after they repent and turn away from it, even after they get it right, we still shun them… they no longer belong in our masquerade… right?

So this post is to me as much as it’s to you… Forgiveness, Love, fruits of the Spirit are not just for the beautiful but for the beautiful of heart.

Some people just don’t click, I get that, but at least take the time to see if you do click and you might find your best friend, your prince or princess and if nothing else a fellow brother or sister in Christ. Look beyond the visual and see the heart.
